The town of Monte Vista suffered a great tragedy when the old mission caught fire. However, thanks to the nuns quick thinking and large savings account, they changed the old mission into a coffe house. Most of the missions buildings were lost, but the remaining building was restored in keeping with the Historical society requirements. Saved from the fire were stained glass windows, one parishoner's pew and a couple of the alter chairs. All of these items give this coffee house and internet cafe
