A rare and versitile breed, the Masi hound was first developed in Africa by the Masi tribes in order to help them protect their herds from predators. Made out of a simple jumble of domestic dogs a few "Masi" hounds were brought to North america in 1980, later the dogs were crossed with other breeds like the doberman pincher and the collie. they are all around versitile breed used for herding, as guard dogs and as hunting dogs. They are independent and need alot of space, no two dogs look alike.
